DIGBETH JAZZ is Birmingham’s biggest and best jazz night. We’ve been running for 15 years now. Up until August 2024, we were known as Jazz at the Spotted Dog. In late August 2024, we moved to the Night Owl and rebranded as Digbeth Jazz. We are a grassroots promoter of jazz in Birmingham. We host a weekly gig, presenting local, national, and international artists. Our visiting artists play two sets of music and then we host an open jazz standards jam session.

We only sell tickets on the door, so no need to book - just show up! We take both cash and card. We run on a pay what you can model in order to keep the music accessible to everyone. We suggest £7 / £5 for students. All ticket sales go towards paying our artists, house band, and running costs of DIGBETH JAZZ. We recommend getting in at 7:30 PM if you want to make sure you get a seat.

If you’re an artist looking for a gig, we’d love to hear from you!
Follow this link, which will take you to a Google form, where you can fill in your artist/band information and the dates you’re looking for. Please note, our 2025 dates are pretty much fully booked, so we are looking for artists for 2026.
If you’re a musician who’d love to play at one of our jam sessions, just show up with your instrument/sticks/voice and make yourself known to the house band. Our house band hosts a jazz standards jam session which is open to everyone.
